Wall of CD Toter

I’m still dabbling with Picasa :) Here’s another Wall: Wall of CD Toter. I might have missed some. I have duplicates of some too in this wall but I did make a lot of them since 2009.

Wall of Bibs

I'm organizing my pictures and wanted to archive the things I've done since last year. I wanted to make a collage and making it was a lot easier with Picasa. Here's one collage I've created on baby bibs I've made last year.

My Knitted Socks and a Break

I’ve finally casted off these pretty socks this morning and had to get hubby to help with taking the picture after several attempts with the self timer failed miserably.  I love the colour and it feels nice.

I’m here to announce that I’ll be taking a break from taking orders for the whole fasting month this year. I’ll be doing my own sewing for the family but I’m going to finish all the orders that has been firmed. Learning from last year’s experience, I felt I’m going to take it easy this year. I almost end up not having time to sew my own baju kurung last year, and not to mention the stress of not meeting the deadline.

Oh, and by the way, Lil Arwen is having it’s first anniversary sale. Sale of fabric would still continue throughout Ramadhan. Do check it out.

Having said that, here’s wishing everybody ‘Eid Mubarak’. Selamat berpuasa from me and my family. Here’s a picture of my son light-painting an anak bulan (crescent) with the help of his daddy.

Origami Bag Set and A Petite Diaper Tote

I wanted to make something from my Patty Young’s Sanctuary collection stash and browsed through Amy Butler’s book. I decided to make these Origami Bag Set for a friend. We’re meeting up for dinner this weekend to have a belated birthday celebration so I cranked up my machine and made her a couple of these beauties. I actually cut for 3 bags but I ran out of zippers. The bigger one is size Large measuring 16.5” wide across the top (12” across the bottom) x 4.5” deep x 6.5” tall. The smaller of the two is size Small measuring 12.5” across the top (8.5” across the bottom) x 3.5” deep x 4” tall.

Here’s a photo of Arwen ‘helping out’ during the photo-shoot.

Then, I got news that one of my photo buddies from Penang is coming down to KL with his wife to do their baby-clothes shopping. So, I cut the remainig material from the Glass tiles to make a Petite Diaper Tote; a pattern from the book, One Yard Wonders.

I feel this is great for mommies who want to dash out for a quick errand and don’t want to take the giant diaper bag along. The bag’s finished dimensions are: 7.5” wide x 7.5” tall x 3.5” deep. I like it because it comes with an attached changing mat (quilted) that folds up and sticks to the back of the bag with velcro.
The teddy bear prop is Arwen’s idea :)

And this is how the bag looks like from the front:

Fill it up with wipes, diapers, a bottle and wallet and you’re ready to go.

Beanies and Cowls

I was commissioned by Melissa to make beanies and cowls for her and her partner for their trip to Sydney end of July. It started with just the beanies at first but since there were extra yarn in the stash that she gave me, I managed to squeeze in the cowls. There’s a little bit extra for her Dell Streak cozy. I’ve yet to start on that. Hopefully I could wrap everything up by today and send it out to her.

I’m very sluggish with my sewing nowadays. Got to work on a few orders that has been confirmed and payment has been received. I’ve cleared up my sewing room just to get in the mood but the mood seems to elude me.

Hard to resist

It’s so hard to resist from buying fabric when the patterns are so pretty, isn’t it? I normally have a strong resistance towards fabric shopping but when I walked into Kamdar, IOI Mall yesterday, after breaking fast, I was pleasantly surprised with the selection. The first few that cought my eyes were theis colourful polkadots.

Then, among the polkadots were these cotton gingham. What the heck, just cut me a few meters for my stash.

This is my combo idea? Do you think they work?

Or this one?

Even the floral patterns are new and refreshing. I just love this red combo, don’t you?

Red and pink seems to work here, don’t you think?

The fact that it’s the Mega Sale season just made it easier for me to draw out my debit card and swipe. Hope you have fun feasting on my fabric selection :)
