Luggage Tags for Teacher’s Day and A Camera Strap Cover

I was procrastinating as usual on making a gift for Danial’s teachers for Teacher’s Day and decided to make luggage tags a day before D Day. It became a weekend project for us. It was super fast and I love it because I get to clear my scraps. Perfect scrap-buster.

Danial helped out personalizing the cards for the gift. His hand-writing is neat nowadays. I don’t ask too much from boys...

Look at Danial displaying the tags on his arm. :)

Passport cover for Datin Nur Fadhilah

Passport covers for Adelin Madiha and family :)
Early this morning, I managed to squeeze in 2 more luggage tags to go along with the passport covers ordered by Adelin Madiha and Datin Nur Fadhilah. It’s FOC!!!! I hope you like the little surprise :) Sorry, no picture. I had to rush it to go out with my delivery man :) Thank you my beloved husband :)

By mid-morning, I got this done. A camera strap cover for Rumaizah Abdul Wahab, a photorgrapher and owner of LittleBigSHOTs Photography. She asked for a lens cap pocket and I hope this will do :) I was intimidated to edge stitch/top stitch the strap and sure enough, the stitches jumped/skipped when I use the normal foot. I have to undo the stitches and for the second round, I used my walking foot and it went through like a breeze. For those who’ve not seen a walking foot before, this is how it looks like. I googled the picture and used it here, temporarily. I’ll shoot my walking foot later.

It’s been a blast making these stuff. I’m looking forward to making some more :) Have a good week ahead folks :)

I was referred by Zura Lovemelots to a customer who asked me to make a passport cover and a luggage tag. I googled and found a simple pattern that I can follow. I happened to have some vinyl lying around in my sewing room to make the business card slot.

Isn’t it cute?
Oh, I almost forgot, Thank you Zura for the referral :) May Allah blessed you with more rezeki :)

More Personalized Passport Holders

Made this two earlier tonight. Love the combo.

The front is personalized with embroidered initials.

Close up of my label on the inner back panel of the cover.

Just as I was putting away the ric-racs that I used, I thought the splash of colours were interesting and snap a photo of it for my 2011 Project 365.

Just in case anybody is interested, I make and sell this passport covers for RM15.00 a piece (without personalization). It’s RM20.00 with embroidery for personalization. The price is the same for 1 fabric or a combination of 2 fabrics. I charge a flat fee of RM7.00 for delivery so, don’t ask me to make just one. Make one for every member of your family :)

Good night everybody. I’m going to take my cough mix and go straight to bed.

Passport Covers for Didee Hamzah

My Mother’s Day weekend was filled with spring cleaning, separating the plastics, metals and paper for recycling, packing old clothes and send them to the recycling centre, a bit of ironing, photography and photo-editing and making these beauties :) I was filling the Poslaju docket this morning hoping I could pass it to my husband cum involuntary dispatch to drop it at Poslaju only to realize that I don’t have Didee’s address. I hope you like them Didee.

All packed and ready to go
And this is the rare moment where I can leave my sewing room looking like this.

The move to clear my work space came about after I was made green with envy looking at Sue of MyBotang’s neat sewing studio photo. Organization is not one of my strong points. More often than not, the table would be in a mess with all sorts of things. I would ‘tai chi' them from one side to the other when I needed the space. Things get lost too in the pile of stuff I have on the table and I waste time looking for them. Good thing that my sewing activities is confined in a room. Otherwise, I shudder to imagine the chaos in my house :)

Toter Gallery and Handphone Pouch ver 1.2

I’ve been busy making these last week. It’s an order by one of my aunts. Some of my aunts just got to know about my small online business after adding me as their friend in Facebook. I don’t usually promote my crafts to my relatives as I don’t want them to feel obligated to buy from me. I’d prefer that they got to know about what I do in their own accord. I’m making a few more for the rest of April for Mother’s Day gift.

I didn’t spend too much time in my sewing room of late. I’ve been occupied editing photos. I’m getting more into photography of late and being a new interest, it takes a lot of my time. I only made one toter a night which took me an average of an hour from scratch to finished product. On the intermission, I squeezed in a handphone pouch, ordered by Faizah. It’s a version 1.2 where Faizah requested for a small pocket in front. I don’t know if you can see in on the insert because it’s from the same fabric. I’m doing my round to Poslaju tomorrow as I was carless the whole week last week.

Signing off for now!
